I am self confessed fashion lover and I try to keep up with what's in and out though that doesn't always translate to my wardrobe. I consider myself just an spectator most of the time. I enjoy watching on the sidelines, looking at those beautiful creations being shown on the runways, red carpets and #ootds of bloggers. Though I have to admit, I do get swayed at times but most often than not, they serve as a lookbook for style inspiration.

I grew up not having a lot of clothes to choose from, most of them were hand me downs by cousins and even from my mom. Looking back I didn't feel that I was deprived nor felt that I was an outcast because I didn't have that pair of overhauls or the latest laced dress. But at a young age,I knew what I want to wear and how to wear them. I didn't own a pair of rubber shoes or back packs. I would go for shoulder bags and laced socks.I adored strappy sandals, mary janes, skirts, peter pan collared tops and was never a fan of shirts. Looking at the countless #ootds and photos over the years, I realized that my style preference have gradually changed and it was not entirely biased on trend but rather it was more of a reflection of who I thought I was.An expression of emotions, personal experiences and perception of life.

Fashion and sTyle may sound shallow and taboo but let's be honest, everyday is a constant battle for most women and men alike, staring at our closets filled with chaos with that one question in mind " What am i going to wear?" One thing I've learned over the years is that trends are mere inspirations and if used wisely, can influence you to know more about your style preference. Your decision to wear laced cropped top with sequined
high waist skirt and crocs ( calling Fashion Police!) should not be in any way judged nor questioned as it is a self expression. Of course there are those lists of must-haves and the basics anyone should have in their closets, but then again; these are just guidelines. At the end of the day, you get to wear what you feel comfortable in.
Whether you're plump, petite or blessed with an hourglass figure ( good for you ); you have the power to choose whatever you want to wear, express yourself and celebrate your individuality. Style is not trend driven but rather it draws from different influences to create a personal experience.
We all have something of ourselves that we want to share to the world. Whether it's our talents and yes, sense of style; our individuality reflects our attitude towards ourself. So be bold and celebrate yourself, wear that hat of confidence and step into the world looking extra stylish by wearing who you are.
♥♥,
Jhesy
